ERRORS – CHECK YOUR ENTRY CONFIRMATION FOR ERRORS

 

  • Please check your Entry Confirmation carefully for any errors or changes that need to be made immediately.

 

  • ABSOLUTELY NO CHANGES (Division, Age, or Group) will be allowed after Monday the week of competition.

 

  • MAPS for venues are available on line.

 

  • No cash refunds.

 

REGISTRATION

 

  • All Studio Directors please check in at the front registration table upon arrival to receive your Teacher Welcome Packet, which includes your video tag and a complimentary program.

 

  • Once the schedule is released and posted on the Encore website, no changes can be made.

 

  • ALL dancers must arrive at least 1 hour ahead of their scheduled performance time.  The competition runs continuously.  If we run ahead of schedule, competition does not stop.    Please be ready to perform in the scheduled order. Plan ahead for “quick changes” when necessary.

 

STAGE MANAGER

 

  • All entries must please check in with the Encore Stage Manager no less than 6 numbers ahead of their performance.  If your dancers do not check in with the Stage Manager, Encore assumes your dancers are not present and points may be deducted.

 

DRESSING AREAS

 

  • Dressing areas are not assigned.  Please do not monopolize any area.  Dressing rooms and public areas should not be used for rehearsal or warm up.  Please do not “claim” any space for group practice or warm up.

 

  • Absolutely NO food or soda is allowed in the dressing area or the backstage area at any time.  Bottled water is acceptable.  Please pick up all trash in the dressing area and theater.

 

  • Please do not leave any valuables unattended anywhere within the dressing area or theater.

 

 

 

MUSIC

 

  • Music for each entry must be turned in to the announcer at the sound console (located to the left of the judges) BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF EACH COMPETITION SEGMENT

 

  • Each entry must furnish music on a quality CD.  Only 1 routine per CD, clearly labeled with the Encore music label.  All CD’s must be cued and ready to start (it is recommended that you bring a back up CD in the event of a malfunction).

 

AWARDS

               

                  Cash Awards – a minimum number of 10 routines per Type/Division Level and Age Group (Jr./Sr.) must be entered for cash to be awarded. Entries that perform on               a different day or are not performed before the respective awards ceremony will be adjudicated only and will not be eligible for High Score Awards and cash.

 

  • During the awards ceremony, all dancers are welcome on stage and asked to remain on stage until the awards ceremony is completed.   No parents, teachers, friends, family, etc. should be on stage during awards.   Dancers only please.

 

  • Please designate a “Dance Captain” who will accept the award for each of your routines.  The “Dance Captain” should know the entry number and the name of the routine.

 

FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO TAPING

 

  • If no professional videographer, one person from each studio may be assigned to video THEIR studio routines ONLY.  Studio video operators may set up equipment in designated video area ONLY and must wear the ENCORE Video Tag.  Any person violating this policy will disqualify the associated studio from the competition.  No awards or refunds will be given to disqualified studio or any dancer from the disqualified studio.

 

IF A PROFESSIONAL VIDEO COMPANY IS TAPING THE ENCORE COMPETITION, STUDIOS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO VIDEO TAPE.

       

  • Parents are allowed to photograph their children only.  No Flash Photography please.
